Born in 1910, Jack Knox had a life-long love affair with horses. His first words were not “Mommy” or “Daddy” but rather “haw-chee”. Jack loved all types of breeds of horses. He studied them, rode them and owned them. Internationally known as a political cartoonist, Jack also was a noted historian and writer. His wife, Mrs. Edith “Speedy” Knox supported his interests and his travels throughout his life and continues to tell his stories since his passing. This book is being reproduced with Mrs. Knox’s permission.
I have heard more than one Farrier and Horse Trainer state that this is the only publication they know of that explains, in easy to understand terms and sketches, the movements that make the Tennessee Walking Horse special. This re-print is a tribute to the horse-man, artist, and writer…Jack Knox.
